Slaughter for amusement

Rare white lion auctioned off to be slaughtered for fun by trophy hunters

While there are many big cats that are endangered and yet very close to extinction, hunters continue to mercilessly murder them. A beautiful rare white lion named Mufasa in South Africa, was set to be auctioned off and sold to the highest bidder to brutally murder the lion for his own amusement.

Mufasa along with another cub called Suraya were confiscated as babies three years ago from owners who decided to keep them without a permit. Multiple of sanctuaries offered to take in both Mufasa and Suraya for free rather than having the possibility of them being auctioned off however, Nature conservation authorities refused the offer.
With only 300 breeds of this kind known worldwide and 13 in the wild, Nature conservation authorities demand that Mufasa shall be sold. The beast, Mufasa is infertile and cannot breed. For this reason the inhumane claims made upon this innocent creature by the authorities themselves was for the lion to be killed for fun or made into medicine.

Millions of people worldwide are taking the stand by voicing their support and signing a petition for the cause and disgust with the move to sell the ''beautiful'' creature.
Wild for life foundation started a campaign to relocate Mufasa and Soraya to a sanctuary were they will be properly taken care of. They already raised 109 South African rand (just over 6600). The building of a new enclosure was set into motion by an unknown sponsor.

Hopefully the South Africa's parliament will take action upon this issue, cease the auction for good and send Mufasa and Suraya to the sanctuary where they can happily live together.
Something has to be done to put an end to the selling, trading and captive breeding of lions taking place in South Africa and only the Parliament has the highest authority to put a stop to this corrupt strictly profit-driven system.

New study found microplastic in every sea turtle examined.

University of Exeter and Plymouth Marine Laboratory, along with Greenpeace Research Laboratories examined more than a 100 sea turtles of all seven species across the Atlantic, Pacific and Mediterranean Oceans. The research was carried out to look for any synthetic particles as well as microparticles in the bodies of 102 turtles. The result was abominable.

More than 800 synthetic particles were found in the turtles when only a part of each animal's gut was tested. It is assumed that the true number of particles is estimated 20 times higher the result if not only a part of the gut would have been tested.

The most common synthetic particles was fibre, which can potentially come from sources including clothing, cigarette filters, tyres and maritime equipment such as fishnets. Although the effect of these particles on the turtles is yet unknown, says Dr. Emily Duncan since the particles size can easily pass through their gut without causing any fatal damage, ''Future work should focus on whether microplastics may be affecting aquatic organisms more subtly.'' Despite that not enough research has yet been carried out the risk factors are that these synthetic particles may possibly carry contaminants, bacteria or viruses. Synthetic Particles may also effect the turtle at a cellular or subcellular level.

The turtles with the most synthetic particles were in the Mediterranean. Although the research was successful Dr. Penelope Lindeque claimed that  ''it does not feel like a success to have found microplastic in the gut of every single turtle we have investigated.'' The issue is more alarming because throughout their years of research scientists found microplastic in each and every marine animal examined.

Where do we draw the line?

Our society's addiction to throw away plastic is fuelling a global environmental crisis that must be tackled as source. Together, we can hep reduce the amount of plastic waste released to our seas and maintain clean, healthy and productive oceans for our future generations.

Our Oceans are turning into plastic. Are we?

The only thing worse than dying is living

During the year of 2015, an undercover investigation was carried out within the Natural Bridge Zoo in Virginia. An investigator for the Humane society of the United States worked undercover within the zoo for five months. The purpose for this investigation was to uncover the filthy, horrifying experiences these helpless animals have to go through each and every day only to give out an educational experience for it's audience.

The investigator exposed that there was a ''blatant disregard for the welfare of these animals'', holding so many animals without the necessary amount of staff needed to properly care for these animals. The unproportionate number between the animals and staff was enough to prove that it was impossible to properly care for them all.

Cubs were left to starve in order to be easily controlled during public contact sessions. Hitting was a common force of discipline. The cubs contracted parasitic diseases causing blood shed. One of the staff was heard saying;

'' I don't care if the cat's head is falling off,
You do not tell somebody that they're sick.''

Baby monkeys were captured and sold to the unregulated exotic pet trade. Monkeys that were infected were left untreated for weeks. The owner proposed an alternative motion, instead of treating the monkey, it was poisoned to death. Tori, a baby camel got stuck in an unsafe enclosure and was left to slowly choke to death. Most of the animals were either left starved to die slowly and painfully, or else were killed in an instant with as little dignity as possible.
The investigator claimed that for these animals, the only thing worse than dying as living. These innocent animals lived to be constantly tortured, only for the eye of the people.

The wild cruel animal is not behind the bars of a cage. He is in front of it.

Introduction

''We are not an it!''

'' We cut the throat of a calf and hang it up by the heels to bleed to death so that our veal cutlet may be white; we nail geese to a board and cram them with food because we like the taste of liver disease; we tear birds to pieces to decorate our women's hats; we mutilate domestic animals for no reason at all except to follow an instinctively cruel fashion; and we connive at the most abominable tortures in the hope of discovering some magical cure for our own diseases by them.”
― George Bernard Shaw

Animal cruelty refers to inhumane acts against animals of all walks of life. In other words, animals are deprived the rights to live freely. In this blog I shall expose the darkest, barbaric, most disgusting acts upon innocent animals. We live in a world where humans attained superiority over everything including thinking it’s okay to destroy animal habitats for our own selfish reasons. I yearn to change this perspective, we don't get to bend the rules just because animals have no voice. We are their voice, and together we can make so much noise.

Be kind to every kind. Not just mankind.
